Prayer for September

God of refuge and strength, you cover us with your wings and hold us safe when fear rises and the world feels unsteady. This month, we grieve all who were lost on this day in 2001, and we pray for the courage to end the cycles of violence we too often justify. Open our eyes to see your presence among us, and open our hearts to see your image in every person near or far, friend or stranger, ally or enemy. Teach us to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with you and with one another, now and always. Amen.
