Prayer for the Month of May

Gracious God, as we enter this holy season of Pentecost, we remember the rushing wind and the tongues of fire that fell upon your waiting people. Lord, we are a church that awaits the power and courage of Pentecost. Come, Holy Spirit — fall afresh upon us. Awaken us from our slumber, scatter our fears, and ignite within us a holy boldness to proclaim your Kingdom. May the same fire that transformed fishermen into apostles transform our hearts, our homes, and our congregations. Let Pentecost not be merely a date on the calendar, but a living flame in our souls.
