Welcome to the Canon To The Ordinary: The Rev. Emily Van Hise

Bishop Jos Tharakan • Nov 06, 2022

Welcome to our Canon To The Ordinary & Family!

I am excited to announce the call and appointment of The Rev. Emily Van Hise as our new Canon to the Ordinary. She will begin her ministry as Canon on January 1st, 2023.

Congratulations, Canon Emily Van Hise. We are excited for you and, with you, for your family and the diocese. We know God has great plans for us through your ministry.

Canon Van Hise has listened and discerned this call and responded to it at the appropriate time. I am proud of her for that. All those who have known her know how suited she is for this call and how blessed we are to have her wisdom and grace, her experience and kindness stay here, among us, in Idaho. Her ministry as Canon will greatly assist the bishop in the pastoral care of the clergy and laity, sacramental presence as needed and possible, transition ministry when required, congregational development as much as possible, and many more roles from time to time in caring for the growth and vitality of our diocese.

I am excited for our diocese and the future this call holds. Thank you, Emily, for saying YES to this call. May you and your family, your ministry, and your life be blessed.

Please welcome Canon Emily Van Hise, her husband, Andrew, and their son, Joseph, to our Diocesan Family.
